On Friday afternoon, B.C. premier Christy Clark released a new climate plan for the province. Unfortunately, the plan has drawn criticism from climate experts, in part due to its failure to set new emissions targets or raise the carbon tax. Additionally, "the plan includes a list of innocuous policies that are known to be ineffective," says Mark Jaccard, professor of sustainable energy in the School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University. Read more of Jaccard's assessment in The Globe and Mail: http://fw.to/IGXMWnV With record dry summers and winters in the Great Bear Rainforest and low salmon returns coinciding with unusual weather patterns, it is clear that we cannot delay effective action to slow climate change. Plans like this will not suffice; real leadership is required. #climatechange #greatbearrainforest // 📷: @iantmcallister
